IRON

Typically, when iron is poured the slag, or debris, is removed so a clean casting can be produced.  The craters and peaks you see in this tool are a result of keeping those bits and allowing them to float freely in the hot iron.  This was so early in the experimental phase that we didn’t know any better and the tool pretty much cracked instantly.  We made a copy out of a sand mold and poured the tool again.  As a result, glass cast from the iron texture has a sandier, and therefore frostier, surface compared to the others.
